In its relentless drive to enhance the quality of care through Electronic Health Records and electronic communications, Medical Communication Systems, Inc. announced implementation of HL7 Interface to Bioreference Laboratories. This major interface launch proves the commitment of Medical Communication Systems and Bioreference to HL7 – the healthcare industry open standards, and physicians' practices getting single point electronic solutions. The physicians' practices utilizing Mobile MedData: EHR would be able to create orders within the EHR software, send to Biorefence electronically, receive lab results electronically, and view them from the EHR software itself. The complete process of collating orders from all physicians of the practice, and providing them lab results would remain transparent to the physicians and their staff.  

The physician partners at Boston Road Medical Associates, Bronx, New York have started utilizing the HL7 interface, and were extremely happy to see that the total paper-work of lab ordering and document scanning of reports were completely eliminated.

Medical Communication Systems, Inc. announced the release of Charge Capture Application Templates on Palm platform. These templates allow busy and mobile caregivers to record codes for the services provided by them at the point of care. Mobile MedData: Charge Capture eliminates the hassles of writing codes on 3 x 5 note cards, gathering patient encounter information on paper forms, and remembering what care was provided! Electronic charge capture using Mobile MedData on handheld computers significantly reduces paper work, allows capturing charge codes anywhere anytime, increases practice / hospital revenues by avoiding filing limit write-offs, “no-authorization” write-offs for referral and admissions, denial processing overheads, slow reimbursements, and higher administrative overheads of back-office call center. 

Mobile MedData suite of products have been serving the mobile clinicians since 1997 by providing small footprint applications on Palm PDA and Pocket PC. Mobile MedData: Charts provides a suite of Clinical Applications, whereas Mobile MedData: Charge Capture is planned to provide an interface to enterprise billing applications for mobile healthcare providers.

Mobile MedData: Charts Ver 4.0 was released on Palm PDA and Pocket PC by Medical Communication Systems, Inc. As per the official release of the Company, the new version is more robust, designed to fit with any legacy application, and carries uniform data structures across Palm PDA and Pocket PC.
