Patient Information Manager on Palm Pilot in 1997 was the first PDA based software product, which was well received by the medical community. It was MCS again, which scaled up its Palm based product to work with a back-end database management system on a stand-alone desktop computer. MCS is in the process of scaling up its Patient Information Manager to an Electronic Health Record (EHR) solution on Palm and desktop computers, with necessary conduits for synchronization of data. MCS engineers are already working towards an Enterprise EHR, which can be installed within a Hospital / Clinic / Group Practice with a Client / Server architecture or hosted with an Application Service Provider (ASP) and utilized over the Internet!
